Southeast Asian Buddhism

While India is the mother of Buddhism, Southeast Asia has long been a place for Buddhism to call home. The earliest record of Theravada Buddhism migrating from India can be dated to the Indian emperor Ashoka around 250 BCE. Since then, Buddhism has made its way to Thailand, Laos, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam and more.
